Steven Deheeger (he/him) is a Harvard University graduate student and Trained B Consultant recognized by B Lab U.S. & Canada, with more than twenty years of experience advancing policy advocacy and collective action for systemic social and environmental change. He currently leads city, state, and federal advocacy efforts for a Forbes Top 100 Charity and 1% for the Planet Environmental Partner, working to address the root causes of food insecurity while advancing a more just, climate-resilient food system.
His applied research, conducted in partnership with B Lab U.S. & Canada, focuses on strengthening policy advocacy and collective action across the B Corp movement. Grounded in academic research, real-world practice, and in-depth conversations with movement leaders, his work examines how mission-driven businesses can build the internal capacity, governance structures, and shared infrastructure needed to engage effectively in advocacy and drive lasting systemic impact.
Steven is pursuing a Master of Sustainability at Harvard University, where he holds graduate certificates in Corporate Sustainability & Innovation and Natural Resource Management & Sustainable Ecosystems, as well as a certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from Harvard Business School. He also holds a Master’s degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from The CUNY Graduate Center and is an MBA student in LIFT Economy’s Next Economy MBA program.
Originally from France, he now splits his time between New York City and the Hudson Valley. Outside of his academic and professional work, he serves on a mountain search and rescue team in Vermont and New Hampshire and enjoys hiking with family and friends.
